Yes, I think that iOttie should offer a replacement pad all the mechanics/ structure is workable and I would like to continue to use it. I now have two units both the same issue. I too found that acetone is best for removal of gum pad and drippings. Scrape as much as you can and clean up with acetone.

It would be nice to be able to buy a new stick pad for replacement.

Can I purchase a new stick pad replacement for my "windshield/dash mobile phone mount" in my car?

Same thing. It was a b*tch to get the mount off the windshield and the sticky gel pad is ruined in the process. The gel pad is scratched up and some is still stuck to the windshield. I hate to throw out the mount since there is nothing wrong with that, just need a replacement sticky gel pad. Please help.

This should be addressed by iottie . It seems to be a common problem and the mount is easily disassembled and would be simple to replace the gelpad/post assembly.

Too bad that iOttie does not sell just the suction cup. They only sell a replacement base unit that includes the suction cup. But if they do not change the material that the suction cup is made of, it will only happen again due to hot summer weather heating up your parked car, especially if you mount using the suction cup directly on the inside of the winshield. Here in Florida we are having a record hot summer, and probably will continue to experience them due to obvious effects of global warming.

I have the same problem.  A messy suction cup.  Can I buy a new stick pay to replace this one?

Joe, I found the sticky glue pad a challenge to remove. I used a razor blade to remove most and then tried GooGone, but that did not do much to take it away. So, I put Acetone on a cloth and it did the job.

I have three iOttie phone mounts and all the sticky gel pads just melted after 3 years. I'd like to buy just replacement pads since the rest of the mount is fine. Help?

Clboyd, You're right. Until they come up with more sun-resistant materials though, I'll settle for just buying a replacement suction cup. I couldn't find a replacement cup but I didn't search for a replacement base unit. I can't imagine that would save much money but I'll check.

    Thanks for the info!
