Severely weakened charging

I have the one touch wireless car charger- The other day I went to charge my phone and it wouldnt charge. Fiddling with the position I got the charge to start, but I hadnt changed anything.

While charging, the phone was slowly losing battery power, as though the charging couldnt keep up anymore.

Should I try connecting a 3rd party USB connection?

Suggestions?
