[Easy View 2] Suction Cup Melted - How to Remove?

Howdy,

Per instructions, I removed the iOttie Easy View 2 Car Mount and found portions of it had melted. 

What is the easiest way to remove the sticky plastic from the dashboard?

  I had to use turpentine to remove from my dash. The gel left a permanent dark ring however despite cleaning. In my opinion the Joe used as part of the suction cup is not suitable for interior car application.
