Troubleshooting sensor not sensing?

My sensor occasionally doesn’t work. I have to press a button to open and put my phone in. Unplugging and replugging the power seems to fix it. Until some unknown time later. So I mean I would ask how to fix this but I don’t imagine there is one particular solution.

  I have the same problem. The auto sensor will occasionally not work, and I need to use the buttons.
  Did anyone figure out a solution?

  Haha, hey, good thing this got a reply as I forgot I posted it.

  Mine is back and working - and what I did, in retrospect, is a bit obvious.

  I cleaned it! I specifically dusted it - with a swiffer duster. It wasn't even intentional as I was just dusting off the dashboard and just gave the thing a quick brush, and lo and behold, it worked new again. I guess there was a tiny dust particle in the way of the sensor?
