I tried to run a piece of dental floss between the sticky pad and the dashboard, but to no avail. I need a recommendation about the removal of this, please.

FWIW, I just used the corner of an old (non-functional) credit card. I inserted it as far as possible in one place, removed it and repeated that process a few times around the mount (pushing further on subsequent locations) until it loosened and came right up. Amazingly simple given the repeated questions and poor responses on this board.

Mine had been mounted to the leather dash of a Grand Cherokee - no damage at all to the leather. And I had the older circular dashboard pad with no tab. There is obviously no air seal to break (it's adhesive, not suction), but with repeated insertions of the card around the edge of the pad it began loosening and then came right off.
