The mounting angle or the iTap Series is infinite between 0 and 360 degrees. Just put the phone up to the mount in and let the magnet grab it. You then simply and easily twist/rotate the phone into any angle you like. The magnets are strong and the phone stays put for as long as you want.
To *pivot* the phone towards you for the best viewing angle (whether horizontal or vertical) you need to adjust the mount (easily done) before you put the phone on. It's set and forget. You can change it, but you should remove the phone, adjust the mount, and then put the phone back on.
